Pilot Electrode Sharpener:
With the Pilot you'll sharpen an Orion tungsten electrode quickly and perfectly. Simply power on the base rotary tool and insert the electrode in the guiding hole. The Pilot properly aligns the electrode with the grinding wheel. No more guessing about proper angles!
The Pilot's rotary body is slim and contoured to comfortably fit your palm. Powered by a lithium ion battery, the Pilot provides hours and hours of use. Simply use the included power cord to charge the battery when needed. Also select from three different speeds with LED indicator.
Why You Need a Sharp Electrode
The sharper the electrode the better. A sharp electrode allows you to deliver weld energy with precision and accuracy. A blunt electrode will disperse weld energy in a wider area resulting in unsatisfactory results.

Sunstone is a home-grown, made-in-USA company. Most of our welders are engineered and built by skilled American workers who take pride crafting high-precision, highly robust welders. During manufacturing, Sunstone uses parts and materials sourced from U.S. companies whenever possible. In some instances, parts and materials may be sourced from outside the U.S. due to availability and cost. Unavoidably, recent tariffs have increased the cost of parts and materials.
To offset the increased cost in manufacturing, beginning May 1, 2025 Sunstone is adding a modest surcharge to affected products. The surcharge for this product is 12.88 and has already been added in to the purchase price. We will continue to monitor tariff costs and will happily adjust these down or eliminate them all together if possible.
Return Goods Policy
Seller’s products may be returned to Seller for credit within thirty (30) days of the shipment subject to the following conditions.
Sunstone offers a 30-day return policy on all products. Before sending a product back please contact Sunstone to receive an RMA number. The RMA number should appear clearly on the outside of the package. Customers are refunded via check. Please note that a 10% restocking fee will apply to all returns. A 30% restocking fee will apply to all 3rd party products (laser welders, laser engravers, PW - AC Welders, and AVIO products). Additionally, all 3rd party products must be insured when sent back to Sunstone at the buyer’s expense. In some cases, a merchant fee may apply. Equipment damaged by improper use or insufficient shipping precautions will be charged additional fees.
*DADO Laser Welder – No cash refunds available for the dado laser welder. However, The Dado Laser Welder may be returned within 30 days for credit towards another Orion or Sunstone product.
*Argon tanks have a $35 restocking fee, the tank must be emptied and left open with the protective cap put in place. All hazardous material and compressed gas stickers need to be removed from the packaging as the empty cylinder is not hazardous and doesn't contain compressed gas.
*Refunds will not be issued for services that have already been rendered such as shipping, calibration, or trainings.
